Case Study 1 - Strengthening E&C in a Global Engineering Firm
A mid-cap engineering firm lacked a structured E&C program, with outdated policies, no dedicated function, and minimal training. The board sought a transformation to meet global compliance standards.
ACEG conducted a benchmarking and risk assessment exercise identifying critical gaps. We recommended forming an internal E&C advisory team, led by a senior manager with dedicated resources.

A small-cap mining company entering a Joint Venture (JV) with a large multinational partner was required to improve and align its Ethics & Compliance (E&C) and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) program with that of the partner as a condition of the agreement. Operating in the high-risk extractive sector, the company lacked an E&C function or program, relying only on a basic, outdated code of ethics.
ACEG conducted a needs and risk assessment to identify critical gaps. We worked closely with senior management to:
- Develop a tailored E&C and ABAC program aligned with the company’s risk profile and the JV partner’s expectations.
- Create anti-corruption policies and processes suitable for the company’s size and operational landscape.
- Develop & deliver instructor-led training sessions for senior leaders on E&C awareness and risk mitigation with a focus on ABAC.
A senior manager took on the E&C and ABAC role, embedding compliance into operations. The multinational JV partner commended the company for not just meeting but exceeding expectations. This demonstrates the strategic value of a well-designed, risk-aligned E&C program in JV and M&A partnerships.
